Shaqqi

A small sized humanoid player race. These creatures are known for being curious and industrious, if a little folksy due to their tendency to gravitate towards smaller rural settlements. Shaqqi towns are typically treetop affairs, connected by rope bridges and platforms, though in farther northern climates the treetop villages are usually married up with a network of warrens at the base of the trees for habitation once the cold weather and frigid winds set in.

Speed: 40 ft, 20 ft Climb - Despite their size, Shaqqi are quick and nimble, and can scramble up tree trunks with ease.
Ability Scores: +2 Dex, +2 Wis, -2 Str
Language: Common, Ratfolk; and Shaqqi with high intelligence score can choose from; Elven, Sylvan, Goblin, Gnome, Halfling, Auran, Undercommon
Low-Light Vision: Shaqqi can see twice as far as a race with normal vision in conditions of dim light.

Special Abilities

Weapon Finesse: Shaqqi receive Weapon Finesse as a bonus feat.
Cat’s Luck: Once per day, when a Shaqqi makes a Reflex saving throw, it can roll the saving throw twice and take the better result. It must decide to use this ability before attempting the saving throw.
Curiosity: Shaqqi are naturally inquisitive about the world around them. They gain a +4 bonus on Diplomacy checks to gather information, and Knowledge (history) and Knowledge (local) become class skills for them. If they choose a class that has either of these Knowledge skills as class skills, they gain a +2 racial bonus on those skills instead.
Nimble Faller: Shaqqi land on their feet even when they take lethal damage from a fall. Furthermore, they gain a +1 bonus to their CMD against trip attempts.
Scavenger: Shaqqi gain a +2 racial bonus on Appraise and Perception checks to find hidden objects (including traps and secret doors), determine whether food is spoiled, or identify a potion by taste.
Climber: Gain the +8 racial bonus on Climb checks that a climb speed normally grants.
Jumper: Shaqqi are always considered to have a running start when making Acrobatics checks to jump.
Mountaineer Shaqqi are immune to altitude sickness and do not lose their Dexterity bonus to AC when making Climb checks or Acrobatics checks to cross narrow or slippery surfaces.

Mountaineer (1 RP): Prerequisites: None; Benefit: Members of this race are immune to altitude sickness and do not lose their Dexterity bonus to AC when making Climb checks or Acrobatics checks to cross narrow or slippery surfaces.

Advanced

Fast (1 RP): Prerequisite: Normal speed; Benefit: Members of this race gain a +10 foot bonus to their base speed. Special: This trait can be taken more than once, but each time it is, the cost increases by 1 RP. Its effects stack.
