Universalist School
Hand of the Apprentice (Su): You cause your melee weapon to fly from your grasp and strike a foe before instantly returning to you. As a standard action, you can make a single attack using a melee weapon at a range of 30 feet. This attack is treated as a ranged attack with a thrown weapon, except that you add your intelligence modifier to the attack roll instead of your dexterity modifier. Damage still relies on Strength. This ability can be used to perform a combat maneuver. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your intelligence modifier.
+5 to Ranged Attack rolls, 8/day

Hometown: Almas, Andoran; Lived, worked and traded there for almost his whole adult life, with occasional caravan excursions to set up contacts in other cities for his employer.
Religion: Pays moderate homage to the Civilization/Trade aspect of Abadar, to the lawful contractual aspect of Asmodeous and to the creation aspect of Torag. As such he wears a small holy symbol of all three in a trinity; A Warhammer, A Key and a Scroll.
Personality: Is a determined tradesman and trader. Highly intelligent and prefers to self teach almost anything, quickly grasping anmy intellectual or creative pursuits. He has a thirst for knowledge and will prize old texts over weaponry, though he is pragmatic and won't let his personal excitement cloud his decision making process, doing what would be most logical and beneficial with some hesitance. Given the choice of plundering a dungeon or a library however, he will always choose to peruse dusty old stacks of tomes.
He loves language and the written word, and refuses to let text go unread simply because he didn't know the language. He has taught himself several obscure languages through self-study during his time at the bookstore in Almas and loves to employ them. He will begrudgingly use magic to translate something out of his depth, though he will note it for later study. He has been toying with poetry but has yet to show any meaningful prowess in the artistic side of language, often earning himself some mockery when discovered.
In a fight Tukadian is practical and prefers distance, engaging with his light crossbow or mageflung dagger before revealing his talents as a wizard, aware that flashy shows of magical power could attract unwanted attention.
His word is his bond, and he will fulfill any contract that he signs. He is fiercely loyal to an organization that he joins, until such time as he feels they have done him wrong, and then he will attempt to leave by as amicable means possible.
Tukadian is fiercely proud of anything he creates and makes sure to devote as much time and care as possible into the crafting. Any piece of gear that he has made or used will be jealously guarded and fervently maintained. He is often found oiling or sharpening his dagger, checking his spellbook for tears, sewing his robes, and otherwise just being impeccably equipped.
Background: Quick Summary - Born in Almas to a merchant family, apprenticed at a family friend's bookstore, found a spellbook and taught himself how to use it, learned a number of languages at the same time, took a job as a junior alchemist with a chymist in Almas, learned alchemy alongside him and was sent on a number of caravans selling alchemical and minor magical goods outside the city. On his latest caravan he was ambushed by bandits, with them making away with everything except what was in his backpack, and forgotten. He then trekked to the closest city, Magnimar, and attempted to get back on his feet. Though Tukadian has remarkable skills he has never had a chance to really showcase them, constantly doing what would be good for the family, and nothing particularly tragic or heroic has happened in his life until this latest setback. In fact his life has been remarkable really only in that it is truly mediocre.
